- Diastolic dysfunction can occur even in well-controlled HIV
- Ticlopidine has side effect of neutropenia
- Multiple cardiovascular risk factors, carotid USG 30-50% stenosis, abdominal USG insignificant aneurysm, ABI above 1 - most likely to experience MI in next 5 years
- Ventricular arrhythmias are associated with anthracycline therapy
- Hemorrhagic pericardial effusion+acute thrombus peroneal vein - follow up with serial duplex ultrasound scans
- Unfractionated heparin & low molecular weight heparin both can cause thrombocytopenia
- Sharp and severe upper back pain, abdomen tender, pulses diminished in lower extremities - diagnostic test CTA of chest and abdomen
- Non disabling right arm tingling and weakness less than 6 months ago, carotid USG >70% internal carotid artery stenosis - carotid endarterectomy
- Constrictive pericarditis shows dense rim of calcium around heart, elevation and equalisation of right and left ventricular diastolic pressures with “dip and-plateau” configuration, approximately 18% of patients have normal pericardial thickness on histopathologic examination
- Carvedilol, metoprolol succinate, bisoprolol are β-blockers recommended for HF
